How To Guide
Everything you need to know about wearing, stacking, and styling your Maison Vue jewelry.
Getting Started with Your Box
Your first Maison Vue box is an introduction to our curation philosophy. Here's how to make the most of it.
Every box includes your curated jewelry pieces (quantity depends on your tier), a matte black Maison Vue box, a satin or velvet protective pouch for each piece, and a monthly collection card that tells the story behind the curation. Higher tiers include bonus mystery gifts.
The easiest technique: hold the chain around the back of your neck, then bring both ends to the front where you can see them. Hold one end still and use your other hand to fasten the clasp. Alternatively, lay the necklace flat on a table, fasten the clasp, then flip it over your head — this works especially well for heavier chains.
Store each piece in its individual pouch when not wearing it. The pouch protects against scratching, tarnishing, and dust. For chains, secure the clasp before storing to prevent tangles. For rings, drop them into the pouch rather than placing them in flat — this prevents them from rolling around.
Stacking & Layering
The art of stacking and layering is what turns individual pieces into a signature look. These are our core rules.
Vary Your Chain Lengths
For necklace layering, aim for at least 2–3 inches of difference between each layer. A choker at 14–16 inches, a mid-length at 18–20 inches, and a pendant at 22–24 inches creates the perfect cascade effect.
Mix Chain Weights, Not Styles
Mixing a delicate chain with a chunkier one adds visual interest. What you want to avoid is mixing two chains of identical weight and length — they'll tangle and visually cancel each other out.
Stack Bracelets in Odd Numbers
One, three, or five bracelets tends to look more intentional than even numbers. Mix metals sparingly — one contrasting piece adds interest, but beyond that can look unpolished.
Anchor with One Statement Piece
Every stack needs an anchor — one piece that's slightly more prominent than the rest. Let everything else support it rather than compete with it.
Keep Earrings Simple When Stacking
If you're going big with necklace layers or bracelet stacks, keep your earrings simple — small studs or minimal hoops. Balance is everything.
Styling by Occasion
Different occasions call for different approaches. Here's how to adapt your Maison Vue pieces to any setting.
Everyday Casual
Minimal layering, one or two delicate pieces. Let the jewelry complement your look rather than define it. GLOW box pieces are perfect for this.
Office & Professional
Keep it refined — one necklace, small earrings, a simple ring or bracelet. HAZE and DUSK box pieces work beautifully in professional settings.
Evening & Events
This is when you layer up. Two or three necklaces, a stack of bracelets, statement earrings. LUNE and STAR pieces were made for these moments.
STAR box pieces are designed to be worn as conversation pieces — they're personalised, meaningful, and designed to stand out. Wear your zodiac pendant as the centrepiece of a layered necklace stack, or pair your zodiac ring as the focal point of a minimal ring stack. Let it be the statement — keep everything else intentionally understated.
Absolutely — mixed metal styling is one of the biggest jewelry trends right now and looks intentional and modern when done right. The key is balance: don't mix metals equally (50/50 looks accidental). Instead, let one metal dominate (say, 70% gold) and use the other as an accent. One silver ring in a gold stack, or one gold pendant with silver chain layers, works beautifully.
Ring Stacking
There's no hard rule, but 3–5 rings tends to be the sweet spot for a full stack. One or two rings looks intentional and minimal. Six or more starts to feel costume-y unless every piece is carefully chosen.
The most popular ring stacking fingers are the index finger, middle finger, and ring finger. The index finger reads as bold and fashion-forward. The middle finger is the most balanced. The ring finger is classic. Mixing across fingers creates a more relaxed, bohemian look. Mixing on a single finger feels more curated and intentional.
Fit is everything for stacking. Rings that are slightly snug sit more securely. For a full finger stack, place the widest or most statement ring in the centre and flank it with thinner bands — this creates visual balance and keeps the stack from sliding.
Quick Care Guide
Remove your jewelry before showering, swimming, and sleeping. This single habit alone significantly extends the life of all your pieces — both plated and sterling silver.
A gentle wipe with a dry microfibre cloth after each wear is all most pieces need. A deeper clean (warm water, mild soap, dry cloth) every 2–4 weeks keeps pieces looking their best. Silver pieces benefit from occasional polishing with a silver cloth.
